Conditions or Reasons:
1) The removal of the existing mixed combed wheat reed and water reed thatched roof covering and replacement with water reed, with a wrap over block cut ridge would be detrimental to the past historic character and special interest of this Grade ll Listed building (located within the Aspley Heath Conservation Area) and damaging to the appearance of the cottage, by reason of the continuation of a thatched roof of material and style that is not in accord with the traditional and vernacular material, style and appearance of historic thatched roofs in Central Bedfordshire. This would be in conflict with PPG15 and planning policy.
