1) The proposed extension, by reason of its size, height, bulk and massing, does not appear subservient to the existing dwelling, resulting in an over-dominant extension, having a detrimental impact on the character and appearance of this part of the streetscene and an unbalancing effect on the pair of semi-detached houses of which it is part, contrary to policies DM3 and CS14 of the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies for Central Bedfordshire (North) (adopted 2009), Design in Central Bedfordshire: A Guide for Development (Supplement DS4 - Residential Alterations and Extensions, PPS1 (Delivering Sustainable Development) and PPS3 (Housing).
