Conditions or Reasons for Planning Application - CB/13/03488/FULL
Conditions or Reasons:
1) The proposed two storey extension would introduce development hard to the common boundary with No.7 Plum Tree Road to the west. Visible in both the street scene of Cherry Trees to the south of the application site and Plum Tree Road to the west, the two storey extension in conjunction with the single storey additions proposed to the host dwelling house would appear a dominant and unsympathetic form that would have a significant adverse impact upon the character and appearance of the surrounding area with no regard to the importance of visible breaks between built forms within the street scene. The proposal is considered out of keeping with the character of the surrounding built form to the detriment of the street scene and local townscape. For these reasons the development is contrary to policy DM3 of the Core Strategy and Development Management Policies (2009) and Central Government advise contained with The National Planning Policy Framework (2012) with respect to Section 7 - Requiring Good Design.
