Conditions or Reasons for Planning Application - CB/22/03394/FULL
Conditions or Reasons:
1) The proposed retention of airport parking to the site represents inappropriate development within the Green Belt, which is, by definition, harmful to the Green Belt, and would have a detrimental impact on the openness and visual amenity of the Green Belt. No very special circumstances to clearly outweigh this harm have been advanced with the application. The proposal is therefore contrary to Section 13 (Protecting Green Belt Land) of the National Planning Policy Framework (2021), and Policy SP4 of the Central Bedfordshire Local Plan (2015-2035)
2) The proposed retention of airport parking to the site, resulting in the proliferation of parked cars across the site area would be harmful to the character and appearance of the application site and out of keeping with the open landscape character that surrounds the site. The proposal is therefore contrary to Section 12 (Achieving Well-Designed Places) of the National Planning Policy Framework (2021) and Policies HQ1 and EE5 of the Central Bedfordshire Local Plan (2015-2035)
