4 )The South Bedfordshire District Council Landscape Officer has confirmed that the whole Redwood Glade estate is covered by a Woodland Tree Preservation Order. The Landscape Officer advises that although the proposal will significantly harm a Sawara and a Leyland Cypress tree to the front of the property, these trees appear to be of garden origin, are of relatively small stature and do not make a positive contribution to the character of the estate. However, to the rear of the new extension, located in a neighbouring property, is a far superior, young-mature Smooth Cypress (Cupressus glabra), which just about clears the required root protection zone of 4.5m. This is a valued tree in the woodland but should be unaffected by the new extension. The South Bedfordshire District Council Landscape Officer has confirmed that the whole Redwood Glade estate is covered by a Woodland Tree Preservation Order.
