1 )The application site is situated on a former brownfield development site (Planning Reference 00/00354/OUT) which was previously occupied by three industrial units, two containing a double glazing company (Window Ware) and the third a car battery supplier (Blue Star Batteries). The developer, Westbury Homes (Holdings) Ltd undertook contaminated land investigation of the site and works were undertaken to remove pollution pathways including the following: - excavation and removal of fuel contamination - Capping Garden areas with 600mm of clean material - Installation of Gas Membranes to each property - Water supply services constructed of fuel resistant material The applicant is advised that whilst the council has no positive evidence to suggest that the site is contaminated, care should be taken by construction workers when undertaking the proposed works. If any unforeseen contamination is uncovered by the works you are advised to contact Environmental Services on 08452 30 40 40.
